Gold Coast development: New Women's medical centre to open shortly on busy road

An eye-catching new building has risen on a prime site beside a busy Gold Coast road. Here's what it will be used for.

AN eye-catching new building beside one of the Gold Coast’s busiest arterial roads will be a medical centre for women.

Construction of the two-storey Her Medical building on a 472 sqm site on the corner of Southport’s Yacht St and Ferry Road, just south of The Southport School (TSS), is almost complete, with fit-out works underway.

The project has been put forward by Tonikdv Superfund and will be staffed by female GPs with a specific focus on treating women.

The building will have:

•Four consultation rooms

•Three treatment rooms

•Specialist and cosmetic rooms and a reception area.

There will be 18 car parks on the ground floor and a digital billboard.

“The proposal has given special consideration to the architecture and design elements,” a report to council said.

“Articulation, colours and materials and landscaping have created a high-quality design outcome that is an appropriate size and scale for the site’s location surrounding residential sites.”
