THE 332 suites inside the Gold Coast’s newest hotel are nearing completion ahead of its opening on July 3.
The Meriton Suites hotel, to be built in Harry Triguboff’s 76-storey Ocean supertower on The Esplanade in Surfers Paradise, will open in time for both the July school holidays and Gold Coast Marathon.

It has taken more than three years to build.
However, the tower itself won’t actually be complete until February next year. The hotel will operate on the first 31 floors.
Meriton Suites group general manager Matthew Thomas said staff were working rapidly to have facilities ready.
“The final touches are being put on the hotel’s soft furnishings as well as the commercial sections on the ground floor, which will include three restaurants and a lobby coffee shop and bar,” he said.
“It’s great to be opening a hotel in this current tourism climate.”

Ocean, which is on the doorstep of a light-rail station, will have 711 apartments and hotel suites, plus cafes and restaurants on the ground and first floors.
Construction of the middle floors will finish before the first residents pick up the keys in September.
The top levels, including the penthouse, will be completed by February.
Mr Triguboff this month said the giant tower would not be his last on the Gold Coast. He has to buy another Surfers Paradise site.
