Teens charged over theft, iPhone still missing
January 19, 2022
Police are looking for an iPhone that was stolen by youth criminals from a 13-year-old girl last week.
Posts on a Facebook community group detailed how a woman’s daughter had her iPhone and clothing items stolen by two girls on Friday night.
“Two girls bullied, intimidated and threatened my 13-year-old daughter and her friend last night and stole her pink iPhone 13, white Nike Air Force 1s, grey Puma track pants and black Nike jumper,” the post from Saturday said.
An update on Monday said: “Have you or your teenagers purchased an iPhone 13 pink 128g over the weekend, chances are this could be the one that was robbed from a 13-year-old girl along with her pants and shoes in Surfers Paradise and sold sometime Saturday.
“The police have found and charged the girls responsible and have located all the items except her iPhone 13 pink 128g which was supposedly sold to someone sometime Saturday.
“They are 14/15 Years old and were advertising it on Instagram. Any information would be greatly appreciated.”
A Queensland Police spokesperson said the incident was in Southport but confirmed charges had been laid relating to the incident and an iPhone is still being searched for.
The spokesperson said there is no evidence the iPhone was sold on social media.
