A man is in hospital with injuries to his lower body after losing control of his motorcycle along a busy Gold Coast road.
The single-vehicle incident was reported just before 3.30pm Saturday afternoon at the corner of Chisholm Road and Pappas Way, Carrara.
The rider, believed to be aged in his 40s, was treated for a leg injury at the scene.
A Queensland Ambulance spokeswoman confirmed the man was taken to Gold Coast University Hospital in a stable condition.
No other injuries were reported. Traffic was not affected.
Rider dies, M1 closed on Coast after truck and motorbike crash

A NEW South Wales man has died after a shocking water truck and motorbike crash on the M1 at Tugun on Wednesday morning, which resulted in the closure of the busy motorway.
Queensland Police and Queensland Ambulance services were called to the northbound lanes of the Pacific Motorway (M1) at Tugun on the Gold Coast about 6.30am, spokespeople said.
Paramedics, including critical care and high acuity crews, worked to save the rider’s life, but were sadly unsuccessful.
Queensland Police issued a statement after the crash and confirmed a 25-year-old NSW man died “after his motorcycle collided with a water truck at Tugun this morning”.
“Preliminary information indicates that around 6.30am the two northbound vehicles were involved in a nose-to-tail collision on the Pacific Motorway,” it read.
“The male rider sustained critical injuries and passed away at the scene. The driver of the truck, a 35-year-old man, was not physically injured.”
The Gold Coast District Forensic Crash Unit has launched investigations into the crash.
The M1 was closed after the crash and motorists were advised to “avoid the area” and seek an alternative route.
Police stated emergency crews “will be on scene for some time” and traffic was being diverted onto the Gold Coast Highway.
Police have appealed for witnesses or anyone with relevant dashcam footage to come forward.

M1 closed after truck and motorbike crash
Earlier: Motorists have been warned the M1 has closed at Tugun after a truck and a motorbike collided early on Wednesday morning.
Paramedics have been treating the injured rider after the crash in the northbound lanes of the Pacific Motorway (M1) about 6.30am.
Police stated the M1 has been closed “due to (a) serious two-vehicle crash” and motorists were advised to “avoid the area” and seek an alternative route.
“Emergency crews will be on scene for some time. Traffic being diverted onto GC Highway. Forensic Crash Unit investigating,” the police statement read.
Delays after truck and motorbike crash on M1
Initial: A truck and a motorbike have collided on the M1 on the Gold Coast, leaving the rider injured and traffic backed up.
The crash in the northbound lanes of the Pacific Motorway (M1) at Tugun occurred about 6.30am on Wednesday, a Gold Coast police spokeswoman said.
Queensland Ambulance paramedics have been assessing one patient, a statement read.
The patient is believed to be a man who was riding the motorbike.
One northbound lane of the M1 has been blocked and police reported minor traffic congestion.
It follows a two-vehicle crash on Stapylton Jacobs Well Road at Stapylton about 8.50pm on Tuesday, which resulted in three people being taken to hospital.
Queensland Ambulance paramedics took a 20-year-old woman to Logan Hospital in a stable condition, suffering from chest pain, the ambulance service stated.
Two women aged in their 40s were taken to Princess Alexandra Hospital in stable conditions with undisclosed injuries.
Driver flees after power pole rollover
August 9: Gold Coast police have been investigating after a driver fled the scene of a dramatic rollover crash in the north of the city overnight.
A blue Mazda ute was travelling east along Foxwell Rd at Coomera when it lost control near Main St, slammed into a power pole and rolled onto the footpath.
“A man described by a witness as aged in his 20s got out of the vehicle and fled the scene,” a police statement read.
“Police are working to establish if vehicle is stolen or not.”
Investigations into the crash were ongoing early Monday morning.
Teens allegedly busted in stolen cars on M1
August 5: A group of teens have been slapped with a range of charges and refused police bail after allegedly being caught driving two stolen cars on the M1 before police successfully deployed a tyre deflation device.
Gold Coast police stated two stolen vehicles – a red Holden Barina and a BMW – were spotted travelling together on the M1 in the Coomera area about 5.44pm on Wednesday night.
“POLAIR tracked the vehicles from the air,” the statement read.
“The BMW came to a voluntary stop at Diamond Sand Dr at Upper Coomera and the occupants of the BMW got into the Holden Barina at this location, dumping the BMW.
“Around 6.40pm police successfully deployed a tyre deflation device on the Barina on Warrego Way at Helensvale without incident.”
“A few minutes later the vehicle came to a stop in the carpark of a fast food outlet on Siganto Dr at Helensvale.”
It’s alleged two 15-year-old boys, a 15-year-old girl and a 14-year-old girl were found and taken into custody.
Police believe the BMW was stolen from a home at Upper Coomera about midday on Wednesday and the Holden was stolen from a unit complex at Eagleby between 10pm on Tuesday and 7am on Wednesday.
A 15-year-old boy has been charged with two counts of unlawful use of a motor vehicle and one count each of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, driving a motor vehicle without a driver's licence/never held licence and burglary and commit indictable offence.
A 15-year-old girl has been charged with two counts of unlawful use of a motor vehicle and a 14-year-old girl has been charged with three counts of unlawful use of a motor vehicle.
A 15-year-old boy has been charged with one count each of burglary, unlawful use of a motor vehicle, dangerous operation of a vehicle, driving a motor vehicle without a driver's licence/never held licence.
The four teens have been refused police bail and were due to appear in Southport Children’s Court.
