Gold Coast Crime: Police seize $710k worth of luxury cars in Bundall, Burleigh

Police have released video of the moment they seized almost $1m worth of luxury cars on the Gold Coast as part of a series of raids by the organised crime squad. SEE THE FULL VIDEO

POLICE seized almost $1 million worth of luxury cars as part of a series of raids by the Gold Coast organised crime squad on Thursday.

Detectives from the Gold Coast Major and Organised Crime Squad (MOCS) searched two locations, a Bundall residence and a Burleigh Heads business, and seized three luxury cars.

A 2020 RS6 valued at $260,000 and a 2019 BMW X7 valued at $160,000 were discovered at the Bundall home.

Another $290,000 2020 Audi RSQ8 was seized at the Burleigh business.

Police allege all three are the proceeds of crime.

A 33-year-old Bundall man was arrested and charged with money laundering, unlawful possession of firearms, possession of dangerous drugs and a contravene order for access information.

The 2019 BMW X7 (not the vehicle seized).

Gold Coast MOCS were continuing an investigation after a search warrant was executed in Bundall on September 30 last year.

It’s alleged the man was intercepted and located with $290,000, leading officers to further searches.

Police also say $1.6m in cash and two firearms were found in a car parked on the street outside his home.

South East Region MOCS Detective Inspector Craig McGrath said: “We will continue to investigate and prosecute individuals and groups involved in serious organised crime.

“We have a strong investigative focus to worth with our partner agencies and to identify and seize the proceeds of crime, including cash and assets.

Further arrests are expected and anyone with information should contact Crimestoppers.

The man will appear in the Southport Magistrates Court on February 17.
