A 13-YEAR-OLD boy is among five teenagers in custody over the alleged theft of an MG hatchback from Palm Beach late last night.
Police were called around 11.30pm after reports of a silver hatchback having struck a gutter on the Gold Coast Hwy, damaging its wheel and rendering it undriveable.
A group of “youths’ were seen to leave the vehicle and flee.

Investigations revealed the vehicle had been stolen from Palm Beach earlier in the night.
Five teens aged between 13 to 15 years old were taken into custody near 26th Ave shortly after the crash when police searched the surrounding area.
A 13-year-old Southport boy has been charged with two counts of unlawful use of a motor vehicle and one count each of fraud and driving of a motor vehicle without a driver’s license.
He is now due to appear in the Southport Children’s Court.
Investigations are ongoing.
