Emergency services and a rescue helicopter have rallied to save an injured woman who became trapped after rolling her car, leaving the vehicle and plunging down a cliff face on the Gold Coast.

EMERGENCY services and a rescue helicopter have rallied to save an injured woman who became trapped after rolling her car in a chaotic crash, leaving the vehicle and plunging down a cliff face on the Gold Coast.

Queensland Police Service, Queensland Ambulance Service and Queensland Fire and Emergency Services (QFES) all responded to help the woman, who crashed her car along Tamborine Oxenford Rd in the rural suburb of Wongawallan about 7.30am on Wednesday.

Witnesses saw a car veer off Tamborine-Oxenford Rd and it’s thought they phoned for help.

The woman was reportedly found clinging about 70 metres down the cliff face, according to a QFES spokeswoman.

It’s understood rescuers heard the woman screaming for help after she found herself stuck.

Rescuers were considering using ropes and pulleys to lower paramedics down to reach the woman.

But police officers waited with her until a chopper arrived to winch paramedics down, a police spokesman said.

Eventually, after being winched from the cliff face just after midday, the woman was flown to Princess Alexandra Hospital in a stable condition, suffering from a serious head injury and arm injury. She was also complaining of back pain.

Teen slams through fence, rolls car 40m in crash

Earlier: Police will be probing the cause of a dramatic morning crash in which a teenage boy crashed through a fence outside a home and rolled his car about 40 metres.

Officers were called to Carrington Rd at Bonogin about 7.30am on Wednesday morning.

They found a 17-year-old boy managed to get out of the vehicle, but was suffering from shock after the chaotic incident, a Gold Coast police spokeswoman said.

She said the boy’s vehicle rolled an estimated 40m, but did not damage the home.

Officers will be investigating how the crash occurred, including testing the teen for alcohol or drugs and examining whether speed was a factor.

Queensland Ambulance paramedics were also called to the crash about 7.40am.

They took the teen to Gold Coast University Hospital after what was described a “single-vehicle rollover into a fence”.

Four injured in string of crashes across Coast

They were taken to Gold Coast University Hospital in a stable condition.

Two-and-a-half hours later, about 8.35pm, paramedics were called to a vehicle and bicycle crash at the intersection of Lae Dr and Morala Ave at Runaway Bay.

A man aged in his 20s was taken to Gold Coast University in a stable condition, suffering from a knee injury.

Early on Wednesday morning, about 1.26am, paramedics were called to a single-vehicle crash at the intersection of Cottesloe Dr and University Dr at Robina.

A patient of an undisclosed age and gender was taken to Gold Coast University Hospital in a stable condition.

Why police chopper was circling over Helensvale

June 15: A police helicopter was dispatched during a search for a 90-year-old woman in Helensvale on Tuesday evening.

The chopper broadcast an urgent message asking members of the community to search their garages, sheds and lawns for the missing woman, who suffers from dementia.

She was located by members of the community around 7pm.

Police have thanked the public for their assistance.

CAR SMASHES INTO SUBURBAN GARDEN

June 15: Emergency services were called to an unusual incident in Parkwood around 11:20am on Tuesday.

An Queensland Ambulance Spokesperson said a car crashed into a garden bed on a resident’s property.

The driver of the car was not injured in the incident.

Queensland Ambulance services also attended to two Canungra crashes on Tuesday morning.

Critical care were assessing a two-vehicle crash on Beaudesert Nerang Road at 11:39am.

A female in her 30s was transported by the High Acuity Response Unit in a serious condition with chest and pelvic injuries after she was entrapped inside the car.

A man in his 40s and a little girl from the second vehicle were transported with minor injuries.

All patients were taken to the Gold Coast University Hospital.

A Queensland Ambulance spokesperson said three people were being assessed following a truck rollover on Beaudesert Nerang Road at 11:20am.

‘MASSIVE EXPLOSION’ AS FIRE RIPPED THROUGH CAR

June 15: Firefighters have raced to an intense car fire on the Gold Coast after callers reported hearing a “massive explosion”.

It’s the latest in a spate of recent car fires on the Gold Coast, linked to either worrying mechanical faults or thieves torching stolen vehicles.

Queensland Fire and Emergency Services (QFES) firefighters were called to Fresco Court at Tallebudgera about 11.45pm on Monday, a spokesman said.

The car blaze was “well involved” when firefighters arrived and the vehicle was “engulfed by flames”.

Firefighters spent about 45 minutes extinguishing the fire and making sure the area was safe.

They had to obtain extra water to fight the savage fire.

Residents in the area phoned emergency services for help as the blaze escalated and the “massive explosion” was heard, the spokesman said.

QFES left the scene in the hands of Queensland Police.

Police said the vehicle was “extensively damaged” and officers were working to determine if the vehicle had been stolen, a spokeswoman said.

She confirmed a nearby power pole caught fire and was damaged.

Investigations were ongoing on Tuesday morning.

At a crawl: Crashes cause traffic snarls across Coast

June 14: Traffic was brought to a standstill at a number of Gold Coast locations on Monday following a series of minor accidents.

Motorists faced long delays at a busy intersection on Bermuda Street, where a sedan crash into the back of a four-wheel drive.

Traffic at the Hooker Boulevard and Bermuda Street intersection was slowed as the driver of the sedan waited for a tow truck around 5pm.

Earlier, emergency services responded to a vehicle and motorcycle crash on the M1 at Pimpama about 3.40pm.

A man in his 30s was transported to Logan Hospital in a stable condition.

As of 5pm, southbound traffic in the area was still delayed.

The crashes came after motorists reported unusually long delays on the M1 southbound between Mudgeeraba and Currumbin as interstate holiday-makers made their way home following the Queen’s Birthday public holiday observed in most states and territories.
