More than a dozen flights travelling between Sydney and the Gold Coast have been cancelled as horror weather batters the NSW capital.

MORE than a dozen flights between the Gold Coast and Sydney have been cancelled.
Furious winds travelling up to 120km/h in Sydney have caused flights arriving and departing the Gold Coast to be cancelled up to as late as 8pm.

Gold Coast Airport Chief Operating Officer Marion Charlton said: “Flights in and out of Gold Coast Airport today have been affected by adverse weather conditions, particularly around the Sydney area.
“As always, we recommend our passengers remain in close contact with their airlines and keep a watch on our website for any updates to flight schedules.”
Eight flights arriving to the Gold Coast have been cancelled, with a further seven cancelled departing the airport to travel south.
