JADE and Jack Brown had yearned for the Gold Coast lifestyle for years.
They finally made the move from the UK during the global coronavirus pandemic last month — because they say if they didn’t they would have never realised their dream.
“We had visited a few times. We had some family here and in Darwin,” said Mrs Brown, originally from Halifax in England.
“We chose the Gold Coast over Darwin because of the climate. It’s not as hot here and because it’s a growing city that has the city life and beach lifestyle.
“You have the hinterland, the city, the beach and Brisbane is so close. It’s just such a good location.”
The young couple were released from hotel quarantine in Brisbane on October 16 and took their few suitcases and Australian flags with them to their new Pimpama home.

“We had been trying to move here for a few years, but the whole visa process takes years,” Mrs Brown said.
“It’s something we’ve always wanted to do.
“We had plans to move this year anyway and then when COVID hit, we pretty much decided it’s not going to go away anytime soon so we might as well keep trying and book the flights.”
The couple, married since 2018, were granted permanent residency.
Jack has scored a job as a welder while Jade is looking for work in administration.
“I haven’t missed home yet but I guess it’s only been a couple of weeks,” Mrs Brown said.
The pair plan to venture to Gold Coast hot spots before sightseeing in Sydney, Melbourne and New Zealand when travel allows.
