A $2.5m Surfers Paradise beach bar and restaurant will boast ocean views, a 14m marble bar and private booths when it opens to the public next Friday.

Touted as a glamorous “food lover’s paradise”, Coast Beach Bar & Kitchen is located on the first floor of the new Ocean by Meriton apartment building.

It will have a 110-seat restaurant, 160-seat bar, wine cellar and Spanish-style oven.

Owners Justin and Elizabeth Allie, the duo behind Longboards Laidback Eatery and Bar and The Fish Shak, said the venue had been almost two years in the making.

Mr Allie said Coast had been designed and styled with a “relaxed, casual feel and modern vibe” in mind.

“We’re big foodies. Elizabeth and I have been involved in the local hospitality industry for more than 22 years,” he said.

“Our venues in the past have been more casual, which we love, but we’ve always wanted to open a venue like this.

“We want to play an active role in growing Surfers Paradise as an iconic food and drink destination within Australia and we hope Coast will make its mark.”

Flavours of the land and sea feature prominently on the menu.

“Our restaurant will source only the finest local ingredients, cooked in our signature Josper wood and charcoal oven to deliver a bespoke-smoked flavour,” Mr Allie said.

“We also have an exclusive dry-ageing fridge on site, which will elicit maximum flavour from our beef dishes.”

The venue will employ up to 80 people during peak periods. The Allies are looking for staff to join the team.
