Crime scene declared after flames and ‘large volume of smoke’ pour from Burleigh Heads unit
A fire has erupted in Burleigh’s industrial area this morning with emergency services still at the scene.

A crime scene has been declared in Burleigh Heads after an industrial unit complex went up in flames on Friday morning.
Just before 6am emergency services were called to a Ramly Drive business after reports of flames and ‘large volumes of smoke’ coming from the building.
The Queensland Fire Department (QFD) had five crews on scene trying to extinguish the fire.
The fire was put out just after 7.10am and a fire investigator remained on scene working with police.
A QFD spokesman said the surrounding buildings were evacuated and the fire was contained to a single unit block.
Queensland Ambulance Service were also on standby at the scene but a spokesman said that there were no patients.
No one was inside the building at the time.
Queensland Police Service and Queensland Fire Department are investigating the cause of the blaze.
