We’re spoiled for choice on the Gold Coast but who makes the city’s best pizza?

After hundreds of nominations we have found the top 40 finalists and now we need to crown the 2025 winner.

Merlin’s Pizza, which has stores at Varsity Lakes, Worongary and Palm Beach, was nominated multiple times.

“I would be lost and very depressed without them,” Sophie Reeds said.

“Merlin’s Pizza is easily the best. Awesome friendly staff too.”

Chevron Island’s Arlo’s Pizzeria was also nominated several times for its sourdough pizza.

“So fresh and delicious,” Kylie Bade-Peters said.

Ex-Justin Lane owner Robert Morwood and Oliver Botha took out the Gold Coast Bulletin’s best pizza title in 2024 for Lenny Pizzeria and Bar in Mudgeeraba.

Mr Morwood said they were shocked to top the public vote, thinking they were “under the radar”.

He said at the time they had hundreds of customers every day and were selling out of dough nearly every night.

“We thought it’d be a quaint little village pizza place but it’s become something else entirely,” he said.

Facebook nominations closed on Friday, January 24 at 6pm.

Nominations, via the comment section on our Facebook post, will be calculated and finalists will be announced on Friday, January 24 at 6pm.

Finalist voting will be a subscriber-only poll vote that runs on the Bulletin website.

The poll will close on Friday, January 31 at 6pm.

The winner will be announced in the Gold Coast Bulletin paper and online.

**Note nominations from outside the City of Gold Coast will not be counted**
