A BRISBANE festival has stepped up to offer discounts to scorned SandTunes ticketholders after the event’s shock cancellation last week.
The inaugural SandTunes – set to be headlined by Travis Scott and feature Logic and Carly Rae Jepson – was cancelled amid low sales after switching locations.
Now fellow first-year event Festival X has announced they will offer a $20 discount from their $150+ tickets for those affected by the cancellation.
The festival, which will host events in Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney, has locked in headliners Calvin Harris, Armin Van Buuren and Lil Pump.
Its Brisbane show will be held at the Brisbane Showgrounds on November 29.

SandTunes was initially tipped to attract 25,000 people over two days before the location changed from Coolangatta beach to Metricon Stadium.
Top promoter Paul Dainty said it was this which led to the cancellation.
“The reality is that without sand between our punters’ toes, the very notion of the beachside festival in a stadium meant low sales and we had to make the hard decision to cancel,” he said last week.
“I think we are going to sit down internally in the company and have a discussion in the coming weeks about the next steps for SandTunes.”
