Families torn apart by emergency move from Earle Haven nursing home
A wife says she will struggle to get to her husband after he was ripped from his home at a Gold Coast nursing home.

LORRAINE Cook’s 84-year-old husband who suffered from dementia said reports had previously been made to the health department about the running of the facility.
She was back at Earle Haven this morning to collect her husband’s things and had hoped it would reopen.
“They sent people to Pimpama, all over the place. I can’t just catch a bus to get to him anymore,” she said.

Mrs Cook said she was told by operators of the village that it would reopen once the current contractor HelpStreet had been removed.
“The issue was with the company not the owner, we didn’t want everyone to go it was their home.”
“There was one blind lady who lived there who knew where everything was, now she has no idea what is happening.”
