Motorists are facing heavy delays after a major multi-vehicle crash on the M1 involving three trucks.
Emergency services were called to the crash on the northbound lanes of the Pacific Motorway at Oxenford, near the Hope Island exit at, around 11am on Thursday.
A Gold Coast police spokesman confirmed there was up to four vehicles involved in the collision including three trucks and a Ford Ranger.
Officers at the scene closed three lanes and traffic was being diverted through the left lane and the shoulder at around 11.40am.
By 12.30pm, police were able to open three lanes but said the forth lane would remain closed until the vehicles were towed.
A Queensland Ambulance spokeswoman said seven people were involved in the crash and paramedics were assessed five people. Three people were uninjured.
Two ambulances took the injured people to Gold Coast University Hospital in a stable condition with minor injuries.
The police spokesman urged motorists to avoid the area.
