A man has been rushed to hospital in a life-threatening condition after a motorbike crashed into a truck on the Gold Coast.

Queensland Ambulance Services and police were called to the incident on Millaroo Drive in Helensvale at around 5.40am on Tuesday.

Paramedics assessed a man with significant, life-threatening injuries to his head and rushed him to Gold Coast University Hospital.

Gold Coast Superintendent Peter Miles said the motorcyclist was “in the fight of his life”.

“He’s hit the rear of the truck at speed,” Supt Miles told ABC Gold Coast on Tuesday morning.

“He’s in a very serious condition.”

Supt Miles warned motorists to avoid the area because there would be “significant delays” while the police Forensic Crash Unit investigated.
