Emergency services called to Beechmont after hang glider accident

A 40-year-old woman has been injured in a hangliding accident in the Gold Coast Hinterland. Emergency services have been called to the Beechmont scene.

Update: Emergency services are preparing to transport a woman to hospital following a hang gliding accident in Beechmont.

Queensland Ambulance Service say the woman is ready to be carried up the hill by paramedics and firefighters after crashing about 10.30am this morning on Beechmont Rd.

The woman is reported to have been located 20m down the hill from the take-off and landing area.

Earlier 10.45am: EMERGENCY services are on scene at a hanglider accident in Beechmont.

About 10.30am, Queensland Ambulance Service were called to the scene on Beechmont Rd where a 40-year-old woman was reported to have suffered lower leg injuries after failing to launch.

Paramedics suspect she suffered a compound fracture of the lower ankle.
