A woman has died after a horror two-vehicle crash where a car erupted into flames on the Gold Coast.

Emergency services were called to a motorbike and SUV crash on Guineas Creek Road around 5.45pm on Thursday.

Police reports showed a motorbike rider was heading west on Guineas Creek Road between Simpsons Road and Wirildar Drive when it collided head-on with an SUV.

On Friday morning, a police spokesperson confirmed the 41-year-old Tallebudgera woman who was riding the motorbike, died at the scene.

Paramedics who arrived at the scene five minutes after the collision also assessed a 48-year-old woman who had minor injuries and was taken to Gold Coast University Hospital.

Police officers who were already on scene performed CPR on the Tallebudgera woman before ambulance crews took over.

A firefighter wore breathing apparatus as they fought the flames, with the fire extinguished around 6.05pm.

A witness said the motorbike had hit the Everest “head on” before bursting into flames.

Another local who witnessed the scene said there were “police everywhere” following the horror crash.

Guineas Creek Rd was closed to traffic between Nineteenth Ave and Galleon Way late into the night on Thursday, with police asking motorists to avoid the area.
