A truck driver has had a lucky escape after a tree fell across the road outside the Gold Coast Turf Club.

The tree fell onto the roadway on Racecourse Dr near Ken Russell Court just before 12.30pm, narrowly missing other cars.

It miraculously landed between the truck cab and trailer, with the driver able to walk away from the accident unharmed.

There were delays for Magic Millions traffic for around two hours as the tree blocked the road.

A Council spokeswoman said the incident had not been brought to council attention but crews were travelling to the site at 1.45pm to clear the road.
