The shift is part of a new partnership between Dreamworld and National Zoo to highlight that just 400 Sumatran tigers remain in the wilds of Indonesia.
Dreamworld life sciences general manager Al Mucci said the two groups were leading a global movement to save the tigers, raising funds to combat poaching.
Mr Mucci said Melita and Mya were among 40 Sumatran tigers in captivity as an “insurance population”.
Dreamworld still has 10 tigers left at Tiger Island.
