THE Gold Coast’s newest shopping centre is taking shape ahead of its opening later this year.
Retail interiors are being erected and external precincts and facades are being built, making the Coomera Town Centre site look less like a construction zone and more like the envisioned $470 million shopping destination it was always meant to be.
Lauren Frew, centre manager for Westfield Coomera, could not confirm a completion date but said the doors would be open “before Christmas”.
“We’re really happy with how things are progressing onsite at Westfield Coomera,” she said.
“With mall finishes nearing completion, retailer walls being built and lead retailers soon to begin fit-out, we’re all on track to open ahead of Christmas 2018.”
The centre, which will be one of the largest on the Gold Coast, will include Woolworths, Coles, Kmart and Target stores, Event Cinemas and about 140 specialty shops.
The shopping centre will feature casual dining and entertainment offers, fashion and lifestyle stores and a market-style fresh food precinct.
