The owner of the Gold Coast’s newest “luxe beach house” says the venue, which boasts three cocktail bars, will give off “Euro beach club vibes”.
Kirra Beach House, owned by popular restaurateur Dave Galvin, will open its doors on Friday at 11am.
Mr Galvin said he spent four years planning the venue, which sits on the second level of the $380m Kirra Beach Precinct.
“The Southern Gold Coast has been crying out for a venue like this but it was important for us to ensure it embodied the Kirra lifestyle,” he said.
Mr Galvin said he had spoken to many locals who were excited to see the new 1200sq m venue.
It was designed to put the famous Kirra Beach view on display, with a front deck set up with cabanas and general seating, and a wraparound veranda that could seat up to 150 people.
“I think everyone is ready for this,” Mr Galvin said.
“While we are slightly elevated, we will be familiar.”
Mr Galvin said he had aspirations for Kirra Beach House to be the best bar in Australia.
“Given our aspect, size, three cocktail bars, the drinks and food, we will get there,” he said.
“The venue will have a beach club atmosphere about it, with great music, mesmerising panoramic views of Kirra, Mediterranean-style food, a world-class drinks list and, of course, great service.”
The venue will open daily from December 8 and will hold a New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day party.
Mr Galvin said the demand for people already asking to book tables was a great sign.
Moreton Bay bugs, pina coladas: Rooftop bar announces opening date
The owner of a rooftop venue in the Gold Coast’s south says he is ready to open the doors to “this summer’s ultimate destination”.
After almost two years in the works Kirra Beach House will open on Friday December 8 from 11am.
Owner Dave Galvin said he was “excited” to launch his section of the $380m Kirra Point Precinct.
The space will have beachfront cabanas for up to 25 people, luxurious leather booths, a private seafood BBQ area, a high-end wedding and event spaces for all sizes and three bars.
“I can’t wait to see everyone in the venue from next Friday, we are expecting the opening weekend to be huge,” Mr Galvin said.
He said the Gold Coast was in desperate need for a “high-end” venue like Kirra Beach House.
“The venue will have a beach club atmosphere about it, with great music, mesmerising panoramic views of Kirra, Mediterranean-style food using the incredible local produce we have on our doorstep, a world-class drinks list, and of course, great service,” he said.
The signature cocktails will include a ‘Bahamas’ Champagne Pina Coladas and a ‘Cancun’ spicy watermelon margarita.
Head Chef Drew Wilson said he created the menu to include a Mediterranean-style grazing menu.
He said they have a mixture of classic snacks, raw and cooked seafood platters, pizzas, steaks and burgers.
“We have designed a menu that is a reflection of our coastal location and the laid-back lifestyle of Kirra,” Mr Wilson said.
“Where our guests can come in at any time and graze their way through a variety of dishes made using incredible, high quality produce.
“Combine that with the unbeatable view and it really is the whole package.”
The menu will have smoke ham hock croquette, fried fish burger with pickled zucchini iceberg, crispy bug roll, seafood platter, daily crudo, Moreton Bay bugs and spanner crab remoulade and more.
The Kirra Beach House opening comes only two weeks after KTQ Group successfully opened the doors to their downstairs neighbour Kirra Beach Hotel.
The final stage of the $380m project will include a residential apartment tower, a boutique hotel and a retail precinct featuring a village square, a fresh food marketplace, florist, bakery, gelataria and more.
