A beachside dining venue on the Gold Coast is closing after two years of trading but the owners say it isn’t farewell forever.

Palm Beach Ave restaurant (PBA) owners Daniel and Ruggie Ridgeway said June 30 would be the eatery’s last day.

Mr Ridgeway said it was “sad” to say goodbye to their creation but the husband and wife team were “excited to reveal their new vision for the space”.

The couple said they were unable to share details about their new venue, which would take PBA’s place “later in the year”, but were confident locals would love it.

Mr Ridgeway said they decided to close the breakfast, lunch and dinner venue, which debuted in July 2022, because it was “time for a change”.

“The design layout for the new venue uses and breaks up the space much better, creating more intimate areas when needed,” he said.

Mr Ridgeway said they’d fallen in love with the laid-back lifestyle of the area and were proud of how successful PBA had been in the community.

“We wanted to give the Palm Beach locals a beautiful, relaxed venue where they could feel comfortable walking in at any time to get a great meal, a cold drink and have a chat,” he said.

“More and more people seem to be moving to Palm Beach, showing that the secret of how special the suburb is is getting out.”

Mr Ridgeway hoped the southern strip would see expanded restaurant and dining options within the next five years.

“We have so many friends that live in Palm Beach and they like to stay and dine in their local suburb,” he said.

“At the end of the day, we simply want to give the Palm Beach and Gold Coast locals a dining experience that they want to come back to and call their own.

“With what we have in store, we think this will give them just that.”
