DAMAGING winds and heavy rain expected to lash the Gold Coast from Tropical Cyclone Oma has made organisers to reschedule events planned for the weekend.
Several events have been postpones or cancelled.
All 34 Gold Coast beaches remain closed today and for the weekend.
The City of Gold Coast has advised people to stay away from rock walls and seaways.
If you are unsure if the an event you are attending this weekend is still on, contact the organiser of the event.

Bryon Bay Surf Festival
Relocated and cancelled events
The GoPro Sunset Cinema has been relocated to be held inside the Bryon Bay Beach Hotel. The Twilight Markets have been cancelled. Organisers are deciding if the Surf Art Market will be held tomorrow.

SATURDAY
Beachfront Markets, Surfers Paradise
CANCELLED
The weekly beachfront markets at Surfers Paradise as been cancelled for both today and tomorrow due to the strong winds. The giant sand sculptures and activities for the Sand Safari Arts Festival along the Surfers Paradise foreshore will remain accessible. The markets are expected to return for the following weekend.
Summer Social at the Surrounds, Helensvale
Postponed until Saturday March 9
The tropical summer evening festivities at The Surrounds at Helensvale have been rescheduled to be held in two weeks time. Live music, food trucks, jumping castle and entertainment will be held on Saturday March 9 between 5.30pm to 8.30pm.
Food Truck & Movie Festival, Pimpam a
Postponed until Saturday March 2
The free food truck and movie festival at Gainsborough Greens, that was planned for the last week of summer has been rescheduled. The film The Secret Life of Pets, starting at 6.30pm, and The Wiener Wagon food truck has been moved forward to the following Saturday.

La Fiesta Tastes and & Sounds from South America, Broadwater Parklands
Postponed until Sunday March 3
The free event and third annual South American festival has been rescheduled for the following Saturday. Samba dancers, live music and Brazilian street food will be at Broadwater Parklands on Sunday March 3, starting at 2pm and finishing at 8pm.
You & your mate can get hooked, Oxenford
Postponed until Sunday March 24
The event has been rescheduled to be held in a month’s time. The group is meeting to survey fish in the Damian Leeding Memorial Park Lake and have the first motorised fishing competition in the lake. The briefing and registration starts at 6.30am, with boats entering the water at 7am. Fishing starts at midday and prizes are given away at 1.30pm in the park with a food truck picnic. Today is the last day to get tickets. Tickets are $102.754 each.

BeachCare, Palm Beach
Postponed until March 19
The coastal clean up group BeachCare that was meeting at Palm Beach this Saturday has been rescheduled until 10am March 19. The Gold Coast community engagement group that is facilitated by the Griffith Centre for Coastal Management in partnership with the City of Gold Coast.
