A trio of robbers have forced their way into a Gold Coast home and assaulted two men, leaving them with facial injuries.

A TRIO of robbers have forced their way into a Gold Coast home and assaulted two men inside the residence, leaving them with facial injuries.

Gold Coast police have been investigating the violent robbery on Johnston St at Southport just before midnight on Tuesday, a spokeswoman said.

“Preliminary inquiries indicate three male offenders forced entry through the rear door of the house before demanding property,” she said.

“The men fled the scene a short time later with a small amount of property.”

Police officers discovered the men had been injured in the robbery when they arrived at the home.

Investigations were ongoing on Wednesday morning.
