Coronavirus: Gold Coast Health cuts visitor numbers as part of COVID-19 protection measures

VISITOR numbers have been slashed and fever checks will be taking place at the door of Gold Coast Hospitals as part of major new steps to prevent the spread of coronavirus.
From today onwards Gold Coast health has restricted those coming to visit inpatients at Robina and the Gold Coast University hospitals to one visitor per patient, and one visit per day.
Visiting hours remain unchanged.
Entrances to both local public hospitals have also been restricted to ensure fever checks and hand sanitation is in place.
GOLD COAST CONFIRMED CORONAVIRUS CASES HAVE NOW DOUBLED
The GCUH now has only four working entrances and Robina has three.
Community Child Health practices have also changed as telephone consultations replace face-to-face appointments with child health nurses.
Drop in clinics and group sessions have ceased all together until further notice.
New mothers or those who are giving birth in coming weeks are being offered phone appointments rather than in-person consults.
