A woman convicted for manslaughter over the death of her four-year-old son is fighting to stay alive in hospital after suffering a life-threatening fall at her Coomera residence on Saturday.

Heidi Strbak spent five years in jail for manslaughter over the death of her son Tyrell Cobb in 2009.

Around 7:30am, police and ambulance services were called to a duplex on Cassia Drive, where Ms Strbak was rushed to the Gold Coast University Hospital in a critical condition.

Reports suggest the woman went into cardiac arrest but was quickly stabilised by paramedics attending the scene.

A crime scene was established and detectives were taking evidence from inside the home and interviewing an occupant.

However, police at this stage say the fall is not suspicious but investigations were ongoing. No arrests have been made.

Ms Strbak was released from jail in December 2020 after successfully appealing her sentence and had been rebuilding her life with a new partner and staying with her parents at a Coomera duplex.

Strbak pleaded guilty to the manslaughter of Tyrell, 4, who died from blunt force trauma injuries to his abdomen, only on the basis that she failed to seek medical treatment for her son.
