A Broadbeach gym which has helped Hollywood A-listers including Colin Farrell, Temuera Morrison and Joel Edgerton with their fitness regimes is about to get a facelift.
The oceanfront Club Lime Broadbeach closed its doors this week for six weeks of major renovations.
The 1767 sqm space on the second floor of the Oasis Shopping Centre will increase by 400 sqm to accommodate for expanding membership.
Club manager Evangeline Vece said the refit will see a total revamp, including all brand-new state-of-the-art equipment.
“We’re extracting everything in the club and replacing it all,” she said.
“We had areas of the gym we weren’t utilising – so we’re revamping the space to be able to cater for what we’re predicating will be an extra 1000 members after renos on top of our current member numbers which exceed 2000.”
Ms Vece said cardio equipment will increase to 33 power pieces across the gym floor.
“We will have double the amount of treadmills, we will have six steppers all our cardio has doubled to facilitate more members,” she said.
A sled track will be fitted along the gym floor along with “a lot of green turfed areas” for functional training.
Another new feature will be two private virtual reformer pilates beds.
“They will both have a screen with classes displayed and supplied headphones – all you have to do is book in to do your own class in your own private room,” Ms Vece said.
The venue will operate more than 40 group fitness classes as well as new club circuits – functional training in a new group fitness studio. The new group fitness studio will feature four form rigs where equipment can be stored and used for suspension training.
The new fit is due for completion May 28 with manager Ms Vece excited to welcome back members and celebrities alike.
“Temuera Morrison comes in every time he visits the Gold Coast,” she said.
“It’s always so nice to see different celebrities enjoy our gym and come back again and again.”
