Charlie Sheen the ultimate professional on Ultra Tune ad set

HOLLYWOOD bad boy Charlie Sheen has still got it even at 53 years-old, according to his amateur Australian co-stars.

CHARLIE Sheen at 53 has still got it, according to his amateur Melbourne and Gold Coast co-stars who spent two days filming with him in an Ultra Tune TV ad this week.

Fuelled by cigarettes and cranberry juice, the now sober former Hollywood A-lister was by all accounts the consummate pro, troubleshooting aspects of the script and ad-libbing frequently during his day on the set at Williamstown, Melbourne.

Ultra Tune’s Gold Coast-based owner Sean Buckley, who signed Sheen up for a rumoured $500,000, spent the day on set and was almost removed during one scene by the film production company Digital 500 Media because he couldn’t stop laughing at Sheen’s performance during takes.

Sheen, who starred in hit sitcom Two-and-a-Half Men before his contract was terminated in 2011 after he made disparaging remarks about the creator, was at one stage earning $1.8 million per episode.

He has worked

with luminaries including Clint Eastwood in The Rookie and Michael Douglas in Wall Street.

This week his co-stars included exotic dancers from the Gold Coast, Ultra Tune ad mainstays the Rubber Girls, and ex-AFL star Warwick Capper, who told the Bulletin he was preparing for his scene by having “a couple of scotches”.

Asked by the Bulletin about smashing out his Ultra Tune scenes in quite a few takes less than his amateur co-stars, Sheen laughed and said: “I have been doing this 36 years. I mean shit, y’know, if I can’t show up and hit a mark and say a few words then I should fly home tonight.”

Ad extra Haylee Baxter, of the Gold Coast, who was filmed in a black bikini in boat party scenes with Sheen, said: “He was very good, very quick and would take one or two takes. Everyone else was taking ages.”

Rubber Girl Laura Lydall, asked if she thought this ad would be controversial like previous Ultra Tune

TV advertisements starring bikini models and Mike Tyson and Jean-Claude

van Damme, replied: “More than ever.”

She said Sheen was very engaged in the shoot and made suggestions about changing certain lines and aspects of scenes.

Sheen’s visit to Australia for the ad shoot includes a speaking tour in which no topics will be off limits in Melbourne tonight and Sydney tomorrow night.

Tickets are between $195 and $1495 for the events, criticised by anti-domestic violence campaigners for sending the wrong message due to Sheen’s history of alleged violence towards former partners.
