‘Non-responsive’: Teen’s near-drowning at Gold Coast beach

A teen has nearly drowned at a Gold Coast beach this afternoon with lifeguards having to pull him from the ocean. FULL STORY.

A teenager has nearly drowned in Surfers Paradise this afternoon.

Emergency services were called to the beach off Cavill Ave at 2.32pm on Sunday afternoon after report a male in his late teens was pulled from the water.

A Queensland Ambulance spokeswoman said when the teen was rescued by lifeguards he was “fairly non-responsive”.

He was taken to Gold Coast University hospital where he is now conscious and in a stable condition.
