JUST when you thought it was safe to go back in the water – think again.

A bloke said he reeled in the monster bull shark off a Gold Coast island, describing it as a five metre long catch.

Daniel Pearce posted photos of the giant shark to the Logan Bull Shark Fishing group after catching it in waters off Wavebreak Island.

The astonishing photos left many shocked at its huge size.

“They don’t get any bigger than this,” Joshua Walker commented.

“It’s definitely at the top end of bull sharks,” Jacob Black added.

Wavebreak Island has been known for its usual wildlife and was once home to a swimming deer named Trevor the aquadeer.

Trevor was first spotted in 2004 frolicking on the man-made island and swimming in the Broadwater.
