A flash storm is sweeping through the Gold Coast region, bringing a quick burst of torrential rain and strong wind gusts.
Meteorologist Helen Reid from the Bureau of Meteorology said the Glitter Strip would be drenched with a “good dose of heavy rain for a few minutes”.
Southern Gold Coast will be hardest hit, with 15 to 20mm of rain expected.
Ms Reid said the storm would pass through the region within a matter of minutes, bringing clear skies afterwards.
Windy conditions would continue for several days, she said.
