Hidden in the Gold Coast Hinterland is the city’s next Hollywood production.
A location has been set up for Ron Howard’s latest movie ‘Thirteen Lives’ in Springbrook National Park, it can be revealed.
Cast and crew members are set to film the movie based on the 2018 Thai caves rescue and have set up around Mudgeeraba, footage by 7 News Gold Coast shows.
Machinery was captured on Tuesday carving out a film location off little Nerang Road.
It comes following suggestions by Mayor Tom Tate that the Gold Coast needs to build a second giant sound stage to keep the industry that has injected more than a quarter of a billion dollars in the city’s economy in the past year.
