Cardboard cutouts replace absent LNP MPs and candidates at public meeting
Four LNP MPs and candidates have declined to turn up to a meeting allowing the public to question their policies. Organisers found a way to include them.

CARDBOARD cutouts of the four absent LNP MPs and candidates have been placed in their chairs at a public meeting for candidates.
Save Our Broadwater and the Main Beach Association are jointly holding a public meeting to allow the public to question candidates in the upcoming election.
All candidates from the seats of Surfers Paradise, Southport, Broadwater and Bonney have been invited.
On Friday, LNP members all declined the invitation.
Southport MP Rob Molhoek, Broadwater candidate David Crisafulli and Bonney candidate Sam O’Connor earlier played bowls with LNP leader Tim Nicholls in Southport but have not come to the meeting at the Southport Yacht Club.
Surfers Paradise MP John-Paul Langbroek is also not at the meeting.
Labor candidate for Broadwater Peter Flori and Surfers Paradise Labor candidate Tony Walker have sent apologies.
They have not received the cardboard cut out treatment.
Both candidates have sent a message to be read out.
Topics to be discussed at the meeting include the future of the Broadwater and the Spit, changes to planning laws such as building heights, body corporate regulations, transport, criminal justice and payroll tax.
