The man, who wished to stay anonymous, purchased the ticket at Lotto Express Kiosk at The Strand in Coolangatta and was one of four division one winners from Australia.
“On Saturday night after the draw I thought I’d have a quick look at the results online,” he said.
“I started ticking off the numbers one by one and after ticking off five, I was too scared to look at the sixth number.
“But when I finally did, I saw that I did have the sixth number. I just stared to the heavens above.”
Lotto Express Kiosk The Strand Coolangatta owner Charlie Sun said he was thrilled the outlet had sold its first division one winning entry.
“We are so happy and excited for the winner,” Mr Sun said.
“We are also so glad to see our newest store sell a life-changing prize.”
