A boy has been rushed to hospital after an alleged assault outside a McDonald’s on the Glitter Strip overnight.
Emergency services were called to Cavill Ave in Surfers Paradise after the incident at around 10.40pm.
Paramedics assessed a pre-teen boy who sustained a head injury after being knocked out in the alleged assault.
He was rushed to Gold Coast University hospital in a serious but stable condition.
A Gold Coast police spokesman said they had to detain two people after they became aggressive towards officers.
They issued a 34-year-old Molendinar woman and a 43-year-old Kingston man with an infringement of public nuisance.
The police spokesman said investigations into an alleged assault on the pre-teen were ongoing.
It was one of two violent incidents in the city’s party capital within 24 hours.
Police also attended an alleged assault on a 22-year-old man on Surfers Paradise Boulevard at 3am on Sunday.
Paramedics took the 22-year-old, who was knocked out in the incident, to Gold Coast University Hospital in a serious but stable condition.
Officers tracked an 18-year-old man using local CCTV and found him on Trickett Street.
They took the 18-year-old Duranbah resident into custody and charged him with assault occasioning bodily harm.
He is due to appear in Southport Magistrates Court on February 22.
