ROSIE Dennis has been named the new artistic director and CEO of Bleach* Festival, replacing Louise Bezzina.
Ms Dennis will leave her six-year tenure with Western Sydney’s Urban Theatre Projects to begin with Bleach* in June.
She will present her first festival in April 2020, after former CEO Bezzina begins her role as artistic director of Brisbane Festival.
Ms Dennis worked as a successful independent artist for six years before joining UTP and has self-produced six international tours.
She said she was “thrilled” to be joining Bleach*, and looks forward to growing the festival even further in coming years.

“Growing up just south of the border, I have many fond memories of the Gold Coast and I’ve watched with keen interest as the region has developed over the last 10 years into a contemporary, cosmopolitan place,” she said.
“I’m very much looking forward to contributing to this narrative with an ambitious program of arts and culture for the city.”
Bleached arts chair Leigh Tabrett said the number of candidates available was a measure of Bleach* Festival’s “standing in the arts community”.
“Rosie grew up on the Tweed and has maintained a lifetime of connections to the Coast,” she said.
“She is passionate about the work that Bleach* does, and about continuing to build its impact in this community.”
