A PIZZA restaurant touting keto and vegan options has held onto its crown after being named the Gold Coast’s best for the second year in a row.
BestBite Pizza in Upper Coomera was voted the city’s best pizza restaurant by Bulletin readers, having already won the 2020 competition.
After a fierce social media race, readers picked the business from 12 finalists.
Owner Jamie Rajpal said he was “on top of the world” to hear the news.
“What we say here is, we don’t just make pizzas, we handcraft them,” he said.
“We do quite a lot of different things.
“There’s the normal pizzas everyone does, you’ve got to think outside the box to stand out.
“I started (in the industry) in 2003 when I first came to Australia, I got a job at a pizza shop as a delivery driver.
“From there I worked my way up (and) opened my first shop in January 2011.”
He added the shop’s keto options, as well as their “Take N Bake” take home range, drew in customers from as far away as the Sunshine Coast and Ipswich.
