The 16-year-old from Burleigh Waters was on Thursday charged with unlawful use of a motor vehicle, failing to display his Learner plates, and another traffic offence.
He had been in hospital with injuries after being hit by a truck carrying panes of glass.

It’s believed at least 10 police and unmarked cars were at the scene, with ambulances arriving shortly afterwards.
A Queensland Ambulance Service spokeswoman said the teenager suffered head and arm injuries.
He was arrested by police at the scene and taken to Gold Coast University Hospital for treatment of his injuries.
The man driving the vehicle which the teenager ran into was Brisbane local Ronnie Daniel.
“I was scared,” he said, “my heart was thumping so loudly in my chest.
“He ran into the side of the truck, I’m an offsider for window and doors.
“I didn’t see anything, just heard a loud bang. He was lucky I was only travelling at about 50 or 60kph because the speed limit along that part of the road is 80.”
