Lifeguards will continue to monitor all beaches.

Beachgoers should remain vigilant in the dangerous conditions.

INITIAL: ALL beaches across the Gold Coast remain closed as hazardous swells smash the coastline.

In disappointing news for the school holidays, the beach closures could last a number of days “as the swell is forecast to continue from an easterly direction”.

Lifeguards will monitor beaches and advise beachgoers of any changes.

The Bureau of Meteorology (BOM) also warns of “large and powerful surf conditions” and advised swimmers, surfers and rock fishers to steer clear.
