A Gold Coast brand ambassador has broken her silence following the cancellation of her meet and greet event due to crowd chaos saying “we accidentally shut down the city”.
Gold Coast social media sensation and OnlyFans earner Anna Paul was on the last stop of her tour in Perth with activewear brand STAX.
Anna, her partner Glen Thomson and brother Atis Paul had already finished their meet and greets in Sydney and Melbourne.
Anna posted a video to TikTok responding to the event which was cancelled by police due to crowd chaos.
“We did a meet and greet in Perth and we accidentally shut down the city,” she said.
“The most important thing about this whole experience is that no one was seriously injured and that’s all we cared about.
The trio planned to meet the first 200 people to enter each venue, however at the Sydney venue the trio ended up meeting 700 people which Anna said was a “surprise”.
“We kind of thought it was going to be empty and we were going to be sitting there waiting for people,” Atis said.
“We said let’s stay back and meet as many people as possible,” Anna said
“We couldn’t say no,” she said.
Anna said because of the turnout in Sydney and Melbourne they alerted the police of the event and hired extra security.
“The police said thank you for doing this for the city,” Atis said.
Anna said the Perth event started smoothly, however, quickly descended into chaos.
“STAX organised so much security I thought it was overkill,” she said.
“The event was good for the first 20 minutes and then the cops said we have to shut it down.
“They said the last time they saw something like this was for a Justin Bieber concert.
“The reason we worked with police to shut it down as soon as possible was because we didn’t want anything bad happening because your safety is our number one priority.
“We were so disappointed and we feel like we let you down but we wanted to make the event free.
“We didn’t want to make you pay to see us.
“But it should have been ticketed and we know that now and in the future we will definitely be organising it for a way bigger crowd.”
