On Monday evening Brand took to social media and posted a heartfelt message regarding the fire.

“A stark reminder of the unpredictable journey of life.”

Devastating fire claims beloved home of country star

Police are investigating after a Gold Coast property celebrated by country singer Adam Brand in his August 2022 song ‘Hometown Love’ was gutted by fire.

Emergency services were called to the house in a semirural Maudsland locality at 11.46am.

A Queensland Fire and Emergency Services spokesperson said seven crews attended the scene.

The spokesperson said there was nobody inside the house, which was “well alight” when they arrived.

The fire, which was at the rear of the property, caused the roof of the house to collapse.

It was extinguished by firefighters at about 12.45pm.

The QFES spokesperson said the cause of the fire was yet to be determined, with a fire investigation unit requested to attend.

Mr Brand, who purchased the seven and a half acre property for $2 million in September 2021, has since spoken about his family’s love for the home.

Writing last year about the meaning behind the lyrics to ‘Hometown Love’, he said they held regular gatherings there.

“Just last year I bought a little property, only about seven-and-a-half acres, but it’s my little baby farm,” he said.

“If you listen to the lyrics of this song, it’s about ‘here’. I actually wrote it on the back porch, and it’s pretty much word-for-word true what happens here. People are coming in here all the time. I’ve always got people staying. We’re always cooking for people, and having get-togethers.

“My little three-year-old girl, since she’s been probably two-years old in the last year, she can’t say the word family. She says ‘Fangally,’, so we’ve named this place the ‘Fangally Farm’. If you come to the Fangally Farm, homegrown love is exactly the experience you’re going to have.”

Mr Brand has released 14 studio albums and won multiple Golden Guitar Awards.

In 2021 he received rave reviews for his headline performance at the Groundwater Country Music Festival on the Gold Coast.

A Queensland Police Service spokesperson said officers were investigating the cause of the fire.

“Police are investigating the cause of a fire that caused substantial damage to a residence at Maudsland before midday today,” the spokesperson said.

“Around 11.50am police were called to Holyrood Road after reports of a house well alight. No one was inside the residence at the time of the fire.

“Emergency services responded and extinguished the blaze.

“Investigations are continuing into the cause of the fire.’
