A man has had his licence immediately suspended after he allegedly smashed into parked cars while drink driving on the Gold Coast.

Emergency services were called after a car allegedly crashed into two parked vehicles on Markeri St in Mermaid Waters around 8.20pm on Sunday.

It will be alleged a 51-year-old Broadbeach man was driving a 2015 Kia Cerato when it collided with the parked cars.

The man allegedly returned a positive breath test of 0.117 and had his driver’s licence immediately suspended.

He was given a notice to appear for drink driving and drive without due car and attention.

He will face Southport Magistrates Court on January 20.
