A 40-year-old restaurant inside one of the Gold Coast’s most luxurious hotels has had a $450,000 renovation which they say was “critical” for the venue.
Pearls Bar in Main Beach’s Sheraton Grand Mirage Resort was recently closed for two weeks while it underwent a complete revamp.
Sheraton Grand Mirage Resort Gold Coast general manager Keith Massey said the renovations began in early 2024 which saw the venue get new furniture, fixtures and menu.
“The space is now dripped with emerald tones with gold and neutral stone finishes,” he said.
“We’re incredibly lucky to have front row seats over the pacific ocean, so we commissioned the renovation to open the space up.”
Mr Massey said the renovation was “critical” for the venue which had been serving locals for almost 40 years and hadn’t seen a refurbishment since 2013.
“The renovations mark a new beginning for the resort, reflecting our modern and forward ambitions,” he said.
Mr Massey said they had a completely new menu and designer cocktail list which featured bao buns, coconut prawns and lobster rolls.
“Our designer cocktails include ‘Panchos Pearls’, a delicious drink served with delicate peach pearls and citrus,” he said.
Mr Massey said the revamp was mostly complete and the venue was open to guests but they were waiting on additional furniture to arrive in June.
“We hope our guests and the Gold Coast locals alike, will love it just as much as we do.”
