A slice of Dubai and Monaco six-star luxury marine lifestyle has arrived on the Gold Coast with new luxury charters costing five-figures a day in time for the boat show long weekend.
International luxury brokerage powerhouse Torrens Luxury Collection (TLC) is making the bold plunge offering all-inclusive high-end nautical extravagance.
TLC CEO Mitchell Torrens said the Gold Coast needed to be like Dubai and Fort Lauderdale and support the marine industry as a key driver of tourism and luxury tourism.
TLC is launching the six-star luxury superyacht charter to coincide with the Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show which kicks off on Thursday.
Those prepared to shell out $14,000 for the day will step aboard TLC’s 72ft Predator called ‘Vanish’ for an all-inclusive experience covering crew, fuel and food and beverage.
For an additional $1300 per hour, the charter can be upgraded to include the Italian custom built 42ft Sacs Limited Edition called ‘Hush’.
Mr Torrens said: “We’re lifestyle brokers. We’re not just selling you a boat, we’re selling you a lifestyle. (This) is your all access pass to experience the Gold Coast on the water in the most exquisite, elevated environment imaginable.”
Mr Torrens said TLC clients would enjoy an “unparalleled service paired with imported European wines, quality crafts and culinary delights which set us apart in the evolving market”.
“We’ve got to be like our sister cities, Dubai and Fort Lauderdale who acknowledge the marine sector is a huge driving force behind tourism and in particular luxury tourism,” he said.
“The Gold Coast’s greatest asset is the ocean aspect and activating that attraction will be a huge move for Gold Coast tourism.
“We have attracted world-class hotels, we have world-class beauty and we plan to enable everyone to experience our backyard in the most sensational situations possible.”
The new luxury charters experience comes as the Gold Coast and south-east Queensland continues to push for a piece of super yacht charter market and servicing it, with the State Government long backing a superyacht strategy. More than $1.5bn in developments along The Spit include a proposed superyacht marina for up to 67 superyachts.
TLC’s options for private charter will be docked out the front of hospitality king Pat Gennari’s new floating pontoon beach club La Luna at Marina Mirage.
Mr Torren’s father and late mother, Grant and Sharon Torrens, founded Grant Torrens International Marine, Asia Pacific’s largest luxury brokerage house.
