Power to parts of Girraween and Howard Springs was restored more than 12 hours after the area was cut off thanks to a three-car crash.

The Girraween Rd crash occurred at about 6.30am Wednesday and damaged a power pole.

Power and Water restored electricity to the four affected streets – Mahaffey Rd, Hillier Rd, McIntyre Rd, and Girraween Rd – at 7.01pm.

They said a restoration crew “worked hard throughout the day” despite being slowed by excavation work in the early afternoon.

NT Police said one HiLux and a single-cab HiLux and Mazda 2, travelling in the opposite direction, collided.

An NT Health spokesman said two of the men involved in the crash – aged 40 and 30 – were taken to the Royal Darwin Hospital emergency department.

They said the 40-year-old man had been discharged, and the 30-year-old man was in a stable condition and due to be discharged on Thursday.

Police said the 58-year-old driver of the single-cab HiLux did not require treatment.

They said investigations into the cause of the crash remain ongoing.

The crash temporarily closed a portion of Girraween Rd between Hillier Rd and Mahaffey Rd, but traffic diversions have since been removed.
