Woman allegedly assaulted after man attempts to steal drink from Geelong bakery
A shop attendant at a Geelong bakery was allegedly assaulted by a customer on Friday morning.

A shop attendant was allegedly assaulted by a customer at a bakery in the Geelong CBD on Friday morning.
Police said the man entered the Moorabool St store about 8.45am and attempted to steal a can of soft drink.
The owner of the Geelong Bakehouse in Moorabool, Viet Nguyen, alleged one of his staff confronted the man after not paying for the drink.
“He yelled then at her and he said ‘f---, f---, f---,’” he said.
“He then hit her once and she fell to the ground.”
A construction worker said he was walking into the bakery when he saw the incident unfold.
He restrained the man until police officers arrived on the scene.
The worker, who did not want to be named, said he was just heading into the bakery to “grab a sandwich”.
Police said a 50-year-old man from Bendigo was arrested at the scene and taken to Geelong
hospital with suspected head injuries.
Mr Nguyen said the shop attendant went to hospital but by 9.30am she was back working at the bakery.
He said she was “OK” but a “bit shaken”.
Police are investigating the matter.
