In fewer than 48 hours Geelong’s hottest new eatery was almost booked out, and it has released dates for June bookings to open.

Club Chin Chin restaurant will be based at the Cattery from May 4, and after opening bookings for its first month of service on Tuesday morning, it was 94 per cent booked out by Wednesday afternoon.

General public bookings for June will open on May 1.

However, people can sign up to the Club Chin Chin waitlist which will give them priority access to bookings for June on April 30.

Restaurateur Chris Lucas, who is also a Geelong Football Club supporter, said the response to bookings opening for May was incredible.

“With just a handful of reservations left, we’re working hard to release additional tables,” he said.

“In classic Chin Chin fashion, we’ll also have spots available for walk-ins each night so don’t be shy to come down.”

The South-East Asian restaurant is a pop-up of the iconic Melbourne eatery Chin Chin, and will open for one year in the Fred Flanagan Room at Joel Selwood Stand.

The restaurant will be open on game days at GMHBA Stadium, and on Thursday for dinner, Friday and Saturday for lunch and dinner, and Sunday for lunch.

Bookings can be made for May and access to early bookings for June bookings is available at clubchinchin.com.au.

WHEN CHIN CHIN WILL OPEN AT CATTERY

Foodies can make bookings for the highly-anticipated Club Chin Chin restaurant at the Cattery from 10am on Tuesday.

The South-East Asian restaurant is a pop-up of the iconic Melbourne eatery Chin Chin, and will open on May 4 in the Fred Flanagan Room at Joel Selwood Stand.

The restaurant accumulated a waitlist of 5000 people who were able to access an early booking link on Monday morning, with the general public able to book from Tuesday.

Game-goers at GMHBA Stadium will be able to book a table before a match while the restaurant will also be open on Thursday for dinner, Friday and Saturday for lunch and dinner, and Sunday for lunch.

Restaurateur Chris Lucas, who is a Geelong Football Club supporter, said the response to the pop-up had been incredible since it was announced in March.

“Now the wait is almost over and we can’t wait to welcome those first diners from May,” he said.

The menu will feature Chin Chin favourites from executive chef Benjamin Cooper’s Feed Me menus and an a la carte menu, as well as exclusive dishes and cocktails.

Cooper said it was fun to create a new menu to celebrate a new world of local produce and suppliers.

“I think we’ve come up with a really exciting mix of beloved Chin Chin signatures and brand-new dishes designed especially for Club Chin Chin,” he said.

“My team and I can’t wait to get in the kitchen there and start cooking for Geelong.”

Reservations can be made at www.clubchinchin.com.au and group bookings of more than 24 guests should be sent to events@clubchinchin.com.au.
