The victim of a horrific car crash on a rural Surf Coast road has been identified as a young Geelong mum, as friends and family rally around her orphaned daughter.
Tears are flowing for Thalia Robertson, 31, who was killed when her car veered off the road and crashed in Paraparap, north west of Torquay, on October 16.
The death of the much-loved woman has devastated all that knew and loved her.
She leaves behind a young daughter, Alice, with focus now shifting on efforts to provide financial security for her.
Ms Robertson’s brother, Keegan, said she was a single parent.
“For Thalia’s celebration of life service, in lieu of flowers, we are asking that attendees make an optional donation to Alice, to help ease some of the pain of losing her Mum, as well as giving her some financial freedom as she grows up,” he said via an online fundraiser.
Another friend, who did not want to be named, said many had been left “heartbroken” following the tragedy.
“Goodbye beautiful...may the colours of the rainbow shine upon you,” another online tribute read.
Another spoke about “how dedicated and devoted” Ms Robertson was to her “sweet little girl.”
“My heart breaks for her,” she said.
“Hearing of your passing was a shock and my condolences go out to all of those who love you.”
It’s understood Ms Robertson’s car left the road and crashed into a tree near the intersection of Forest Rd and Larcombes Rd about 3.20pm on Wednesday, October 16.
Police, paramedics and fire crews all attended the grim scene.
Victoria Police is investigating the exact circumstances around the crash.
Ms Robertson will be farewelled at a funeral service in Jan Juc on October 30.
A GoFundMe created in her daughter’s honour titled “Alice’s future” has already raised more than $6500.
