A 20-year-old tradition between a Belmont father and daughter has reaped rewards in perfect timing as the daughter faces a battle with stage 4 cancer.

The pair pocketed more than $660,000 after holding a winning ticket in Saturday’s Tattslotto draw.

The daughter said they could not believe they had won.

“I’ve had some really hard times, but this is going to make life so much easier,” she said.

“I’ve recently been diagnosed with stage four cancer, so not only will this help with treatments, but it will just allow me to enjoy life more.”

Her father said they checked their ticket on Sunday morning

“First thing I do every Sunday morning is check the weekend winning numbers in the paper,” he said.

“I saw we had three numbers, then we had four and then there was a fifth and then a sixth.

“I almost had a heart attack.”

“We’ve been playing for 20 years so it’s truly a dream come true.

“We’ll share with other family members, and I’m recently retired so I’ll be able to live a much more comfortable life.”

The winning System 8 entry was purchased at Belmont Lucky Lotto and store owner Bryan Leat said it was fantastic news for the division one winner and the outlet.

“We’ve started to decorate the store and share the good news with all of our customers,” he said.

The winning numbers in Tattslotto draw 4503 were 6, 32, 38, 22, 14 and 34, while the supplementary numbers were 19 and 41.

The pair held one of the eight division one winning entries, split into $660,110.33 each.

The Lott’s division one winning tally has now reached 314 so far in 2024 and in the 2023-24 Tattslotto created 158 millionaires across Australia.

A Leopold couple won $2.5m in Tattslotto in the final Saturday draw of August this year, after a Geelong man discovered he was almost $1m richer from his Tattslotto win in July.
